During my weekly trip to my favorite Wal-Mart I found a hobby box on sale. Most of the time the hobby boxes are still over priced and with the sale aren't really worth the hassle. Today I picked up a jumbo hobby box of 2008 Topps Update & Highlights and was pretty happy with the outcome. In the three hits stated on the box, I got one great player, a one year wonder, and a pitcher who only pitched 8 total games in his career. .I have one other auto I have opened out of this set, it was the same player! Here are the hits:
Dioner Navarro (a backup catcher who made an All Star game once), A-Rod (No brain Hall of Fame), and Mark Worrell (Cardinals, but out of all the autos in the set, this is a double).
The set breaks down as:
498 Total Cards pulled from the box (made 1 full set)
2 All Star Relic
1 Highlight Auto
10 WBC
10 Year In Review
10 First Couple
4 Mickey Mantle
5 MLB Ring of Honor
5 1986 WS Mets Ring of Honor
1 Black #/57
1 Chrome Rookie
10 Gold #/2008
Star Rookie Cards pulled: Carlos Gonzalez (2), Jay Bruce (2), Evan Longoria, Clayton Kershaw
Tejada (AS), Morneau (AS), Crede (AS), Aviles (RC)
Heath Bell 4/57
Overall again pretty pleased with what was pulled, I was able to complete a set, have tons of doubles for trades, got a few relics, an auto, and got over 50 inserts all for $39.99! The price of two blaster boxes.
If anyone out there is in need of 2008 Topps Update cards, shoot over the numbers and if I have doubles I will send them to you!
As always, thanks for reading! Jason
Not bad at all!
