An Awesome Trade With BA Benny @ The Baseball Card Buffett

Last month I posted I pulled a David Wright Relic out of xxxx and BA Benny asked if I was interested in trading it.  We worked up a trade for a pile of Colorado Rockies Relics/autos and I also threw in a few other items from teams he also collects.  To top that off earlier this month BA Benny also had a contest of who can complete the best trade for a group of cards:

In all BA Benny got:

2012 Topps Tribute David Wright 04/50 Relic

est. late 1940s post card baseball card of the NY Yankees Stadium

Grade 9 2009 Score Mark Sanchez Rookie Card

In the contest trade (sorry I didn't get a photo of the cards)

1985 Topps Phil Simms #123
2007 Topps Own The Game Justin Miller
2010 Topps Heritage Derek Jeter SP #486
2012 Topps Heritage Flashback NF-MKI

I received in return

3 Helton Relics, and a Joe Koshansky Auto
Josh Newman Auto, 2 Brad Hawpe Relics,  and a Papelbon Relic (in the trade offer)
Various Rockies (I love the Neagle backwards helmet!)

Another great trade!  Thanks Mike at BA Benny Baseball Card Buffet for allowing me to trade with you!

2006 Upper Deck Series 2 Blaster Box - Break

I have a very supportive wife and she loves to shop, and I think she buys me items to keep me from seeing what else she bought.  She went to several retail stores and she picked this one at a Target for $6.99.

For $6.99 I don't really have much expectations on what I'm going to get, for the most part I figure I would get a good mix of stars and rookie cards and maybe one or two inserts.

In my first pack I got a gold card #299.

I did get a few inserts, and one of them is one of the top Diamond Debuts in the set, Albert Pujols.

I got four (expired) Jeter Insert Playing Cards.

In total I got 16 Rookie Cards, here are the best ones: Dan Uggla, Carlos Ruiz, Prince Fielder (CL)

Ian Kinsler, Brian Wilson, Anthony Reyes, Eric Aybar.

All in all, you can't beat adding a bunch of rookie and insert cards for just $7!

2012 Topps Prime Football Retail Pack Level V Hit!

My wife stopped by the store on the way home from work and one of the items she picked up was a pack of 2012 Topps Prime Football.  I have bought maybe 10 packs both retail and hobby and have yet to get a hit, but what does my wife pull?  One of my favorite teams, and one of my favorite new quarterbacks:

Are you freaking kidding me?  My wife pulled a quad-relic autograph of Brock Osweiler 2nd Round Pick of the Denver Broncos!  Why is it if I get a single white relic of a no name minor league ball player, and she pulls a hit and it is always something like this?

In addition the next card pulled was a Peyton Manning!  Sweet!

Overall, I love the relic/auto, but the base card I find very dull and hard to read with the foil on some of the back grounds.  The name on the bottom of the card is very hard to read because it is a very small font.  I feel the name could have been a little larger, maybe on a colored back ground.

Topps '13 S1 Jumbo Case Break - Repost from Crackin Wax

I wanted to share this in case some of you were not aware of this case break.  I have already seen a lot of familiar names listed but I know they would like to have this break filled up.

CRACKIN WAS 2013 BREAK

Of course I picked the Colorado Rockies, hope to see you all there!
